We at San Gabriel Eye Center are committed to providing what you need to enjoy better vision and healthy eyes.  Our doctors and staff are as close as many families, and we like for our patients to feel like they are part of our family.  We enjoy seeing the whole family – from the very young to our wonderful elders.

We are therapeutic optometrists, (we recognize and diagnose eye pathologies, treat infections and remove foreign bodies.)

We specialize in fitting contact lenses.

We are laser consultants.  We evaluate and follow-up with patients who are interested in laser surgery.

We have the latest instrumentation for glaucoma and retinal health exams.  (See the pages on our Optomap and our GDx instruments.)  Our optical shop just put in a new Santinelli Lens Sizing System that uses 1,000 points per lens to determine more accurate lens sizing for frames.  (See our Optical Shop page.)

We offer the finest and most stylish frames in our Optical Shop, and offer an in-house laboratory so that our patients receive quality lenses – many times in one day or even one hour!  (See the page on our Optical Shop.)

We have a most knowledgeable and friendly staff, some of whom have been with Dr. Schaefer for 15 years.  We feel very lucky to have people who feel as strongly about service and patient care as Dr. Schaefer.

We also have Spanish-speaking staff that can help interpret if a patient cannot bring someone.
